1. Information We Collect

We store your email address to manage your account and sign-in. When you use ReelScribe, we also process the video links or files you submit, along with the transcripts and clips created from them.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your account details are used to manage sign-in, plans, and usage limits. Video and audio content is processed to provide transcription and clipping features. We do not sell personal data.

3. Transcripts & Clips

Generated transcripts are linked to your account and saved in your history, where they are available from your dashboard. Generated clips are stored temporarily and automatically deleted either 5 minutes after you download them or within 24 hours if they are not downloaded.

4. Cookies

We use session cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

5. Third-Party Services

ReelScribe uses Google for sign-in and YouTube account connection, Groq for AI transcription, Razorpay for payment processing on paid plans, and a third-party API for Instagram video access. These services receive the information needed to provide the feature you choose and handle it under their own privacy policies. Razorpay processes payments; we do not store your card details.

6. Google and YouTube Data

If you choose to connect a YouTube account, Google asks you to approve the requested permissions. ReelScribe uses the YouTube permissions to identify your connected channel and upload a clip you choose to that channel when you start an upload. We store your channel ID and channel name, along with OAuth tokens needed to keep the connection working. These tokens are encrypted on our server and are not sent to your browser.

When you upload a clip, the video and the details you provide—such as its title, description, tags, visibility, and audience setting—are sent to YouTube to complete the upload. ReelScribe does not upload a video to your channel unless you initiate the upload. We do not sell Google or YouTube user data, and we do not use it for advertising.

You can disconnect YouTube from ReelScribe using the YouTube connection controls where available. This removes the stored connection and tokens from ReelScribe. To revoke ReelScribe's access at Google as well, visit your Google Account's third-party connections settings.

7. Data Security

Your data is stored on our servers, and we use reasonable measures to protect it. YouTube OAuth tokens are encrypted before they are stored. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We keep account details, transcript history, and usage records while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove this data within 30 days, except where we need to retain information for legal or billing reasons. Temporary clip files follow the deletion schedule described above.

9. Children's Privacy

ReelScribe is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the date above when changes are made.

11. Your Rights

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time. Contact us through our contact page.
